December 21 Christmas Party

I haven't lost my luck in raffles. I always bring home
something during office parties, unlike in 1997 until 2003. I might
not have won a major prize during our office Christmas party last
Friday but I got a Nikon industrial fan, at least :) I thought of
buying an additional fan when my mother and I change residence. Now,
I don't have to buy one.

I brought along my mother and niece Joy to our party. This
is the first time that I brought along family members at our Christmas
party. Many employees always bring along their children and some,
their boyfriends or girlfriends during Christmas parties or
anniversary celebrations. Since I don't have any of those, I decided
to bring my mother this time. In any case, many of my officemates are
familiar with my mother for in my 11 years in the office, my mother,
and any of my nieces and nephews join office outings.

Despite all the work-related problems and tensions these days
(especially since September), I feel blessed and happy :)

2007 Christmas

I thought that I imagined the heat today but the evening
news were full of it. I told my cousin Malen that it was so hot but
she said that it must be because we came from a much-lower area like
Manila. It wasn't so hot in Violago Parkwoods were my family spent
the afternoon.

While other family members talked, I took a nap. I badly
need to catch up on my sleep. I've been sleeping late and yet waking
up early for the traditional Simbang Gabi. Like previous years, I
managed to complete the 9-day dawn mass.

I didn't attend the Midnight Mass last night. I haven't done
so for a long time because I prefer to go to church on Christmas Day
rather than twice on the 24th. The reason we had to hurry from
Violago Parkwoods was so that my mother and I could catch the 6pm mass
here in Bacood. We could have attended the 5pm mass in Violago if
there was one but my aunt said that there wasn't one today.

After mass and dinner, I went biking with my niece Joy and
nephew Tom. This is the only Christmas that I remember biking. Well,
I haven't used my bike for a long time, so it isn't really a wonder :)
But yes, I finally had my bike fixed. The shop across the street did
it for me :)

Joyeux Noel from Sayong and Family

Friends and dear ones,

I got the following mesage from John Lesaca today:

Rivers don't drink the water they carry;
trees don't eat the fruit they bear;
Clouds don't bathe in the rain they produce..
So giving takes an unusual turn,
allowing us to TRULY give,
comforted in the knowledge that we get nothing from it.

So, if you want to feel true satisfaction, you may send me your gifts and expect nothing in return :)  Just kidding :)

I only want you to know that my life is richer because of you and that I am thankful.

Merry Christmas and a Properous New Year!

a visit to GSIS

I took a leave of absence last Friday in order to activate my
GSIS e-card plus and to pay in advance my contribution to PAG-IBIG.

It was the first time that I visited GSIS so I took some
pictures. From the Recto Station of the LRT Line 1
(Monumento-Baclaran), I got off the Buendia Station. A short walk
towards Roxas Blvd. brought me to the terminal of jeepneys bound for
the Senate, GSIS, and World Trade Center.

The activation of the GSIS was easy enough. It took me 3
minutes at most. But those before me in line took longer.
